mid-week Connect: 9/7/22 ~ Turns

Greetings and Happy Midweek!

This week’s Connect is going to be a bit different…

We’re going to briefly explore turn taking, which has unique dynamics within and across cultures. The Collaborative component of our Global SKILLs content is right where turn-taking fits.* Understanding both how and when turns are taken, or not, can be very revealing, within and across host communities.

Ok, I’ll start - it’s my turn…to have covid.

Yes, after evading the virus for so long, I started with symptoms last week, which got progressively worse. I tested positive on Sunday, and then again this morning. I am managing, with the support of a telemed team, family, friends and neighbors - all from a distance! Talk about turn taking - errands, touching base to see how it’s going, encouraging words, research updates on what I am experiencing…I am deeply blessed to have this network!

And I do feel a tad better day by day…BUT thinking much beyond this is just a bit too tiring - SO…

Now, it’s YOUR turn!!

I’d love to hear from you about how turn taking ‘works’ in your cultural corner(s) around this wide world.

Maybe share a link to a turn-taking insight or experience…and, thanks for being part of this Connect community!

Until next week,

Betsy
